sharks release 2007-08 schedule...

The San Jose Sharks will open their 17th NHL season at Edmonton on Oct. 4 against the Oilers. The team will play their first home game on Oct. 13 against the Boston Bruins. The 2007-08 Sharks schedule consists of 82 games.

The Sharks will play Pacific Division rivals (Anaheim, Dallas, Los Angeles and Phoenix) eight times each for a total of 32 games, in addition to playing members of the Western Conference’s Northwest (Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, Minnesota and Vancouver) and Central Divisions (Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Nashville and St. Louis) four times each (40 games).

Against the Eastern Conference, San Jose will play each team in the Atlantic Division (New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh) once on the road but will not play them at home as they did last season. The Sharks will play each team in the Northeast Division (Boston, Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto) exclusively at home. The Sharks will not play any Southeast Division opponents during the 2007-08 regular season.
